Heavy metal after the blessing: biker service in Groß Kreutz, Michelsdorf and Borkheide
Borkheide. After Pastor Simone Lippmann-Marsch organized a pub service in the Borkwalde village church, a biker service is now scheduled at the former airfield in Borkheide.

"As I am passionate about riding motorcycles myself, I find the format of motorcycle services very appealing and am trying to establish this format in our church district as well," reveals the pastor of the Protestant monastery church community in Lehnin. A total of three stations await the participants on August 27th.

In addition to Borkheide, the bikers will also stop in Groß Kreutz and in Michelsdorf, a district of Kloster Lehnin. "The service will conclude in Borkheide on the old airfield. Immediately afterwards there will be a heavy metal concert with the band Sanity as well as a bagpipe concert," reveals Lippmann-Marsch, who grew up in Neuseddin.

No registration is necessary for the service or the ride, reveals the pastor. "The bikers can actually come from anywhere. We'll be surprised." The pub service in Borkwalde was a varied format that has so far received a lot of positive feedback, especially from the community, says the pastor happily.

"Of course we know that we won't cater to everyone's taste. That's perfectly fine and the community offers lots of alternative options. It is still unclear whether we will hold this prototype again, but I strongly suspect that there will be a sequel."

The motorcycle service of the Protestant church district of Mittelmark-Brandenburg will take place on August 27th. The opening is at 1 p.m. in the Christophorus parish of Groß Kreutz at Bahnhofstrasse 20. The sermon will take place at 2 p.m. in the village church in Michelsdorf.

From 3.30 p.m. the bikers will receive a blessing at the Borkheide airfield and from 4 p.m. there will be a concert by the band Sanity Symphonic Metal.
