Die Offenbarung des Johannes ist ein absolut faszinierendes Buch, weil es uns einen Blick in die Zukunft erlaubt. Johannes, der Verfasser dieses biblischen Buches, hatte drei Jahre lang mit Jesus zusammen verbracht, die unglaublichsten Dinge mit ihm erlebt und war schließlich Zeuge seiner Kreuzigung geworden. 60 Jahre später – unter der Herrschaft von Kaiser Domitian auf die Insel Patmos verbannt – empfängt Johannes Visionen und schreibt auf, was Gott ihn sehen und hören lässt. Der Schöpfer offenbart ihm, wie er am Ende der Zeit diese Erde verwüsten und ihre Bewohner verurteilen wird. Die Visionen zeigen aber auch, dass Menschen diesem Gericht entkommen können, wenn sie zu Lebzeiten von ihren bösen Taten umkehren und ein Leben in Beziehung zu Jesus anfangen.
Wir möchten euch in den kommenden Monaten auf eine Reise durch die Offenbarung mitnehmen, indem wir die einzelnen Texte des neuen Albums vorstellen und ggf. erklären, worum es in dem Text geht. Fangen wir heute mit dem ersten Song des Albums an: Throne. Wir eröffnen das Album mit einer Beschreibung von Gottes Thronsaal im Himmel wie er in Offenbarung Kapitel 4, Verse 1 bis 11, dargestellt ist. Außerdem bezeugen wir mit den Worten aus Offenbarung Kapitel 1, Verse 1 bis 3, worum es in diesem Album gehen wird: „Die Offenbarung Jesu Christi, die Gott gesandt hat, um zu zeigen, was bald geschehen wird.“ Der komplette Songtext:

Before me was a door standing open in heaven and a voice like a trumpet said, „Come up here, and I will show you what must take place.“ I saw someone with the appearance of carnelian sitting on a throne in heaven. A rainbow encircled the throne. And twenty-four other thrones with white dressed elders with golden crowns. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Seven lamps were blazing before the throne – the seven spirits of God.

Four living creatures were placed around the throne, the first like a lion, the second like an ox, the third like a man, the fourth like an eagle. Each had six wings and was covered with eyes. Whenever the creatures give glory, honor and thanks to the one on the throne the elders fall down and worship him. They lay their crowns before the throne and say, „You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.“
The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw – that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy. Day and night they never stop saying: „Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. Holy is the Lord God Almighty.“
